Icehouse

Icehouse is a novella (about 36k words) about a mostly-familiar world full of anthropomorphic animals, after the world is inexplicably plunged into an unending night. The story follows Seff, a wolf and something of a shut-in, and Rohan, a young lagomorph with missing parents, as their paths cross and as they try to make their way through the dark.

It's a meditation on loneliness, on grief, on the community between outcasts, to some extent on queerness (without really being about romance)... it's also a story about funny animals wandering around in the snow.
